Some Things Missing

It started out as a random drawing, but as usual the further I got into it, the more back story I create in my head. I haven't gotten it all worked out yet, but to explain a bit; She's a mermaid who wanted to free herself from magic, so she made an agreement with a powerful wishing well. Of course, magic requires a sacrifice in order to work. Since the power of merfolk comes from the tattoo-like patterns they are born with on arms and neck, the well decided to take these from her to grant her wish. She would have died, but knowing the well grants wishes in such a way, she also included a plea for life. The well granted both wishes, giving her a magic-free existance at the cost of her appearance, and life despite it. Unbeknownst to her, the well gave her life in exchange for death, so she's immortal, but won't discover this for a long time yet. The metal chains are augments to a mermaid's magic, and she won't be needing them anymore.

She still doesn't have a name.

As for the art... okay, this is a mess, haha. I didn't really intend this to become a full, finished piece, but I got in the groove and wanted to see how it would come out. There are errors in anatomy, composition, and the lineart mostly. But these were such that I felt I'd have to restart the drawing to fix. That being said, I'd still really love feedback, critique, suggestions, or comments if you have anything to say.
